Loza Turns 30!
Hi family,
Thanks for being a part of this journey :) It's truly such a blessing to be able to celebrate 30 years of life this month. When Isayas asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday, I struggled to come up with an idea that felt fitting for a milestone birthday.
After some contemplation, I realized that the only way I wanted to celebrate my birthday was by incorporating the two things that make me come alive: light and love!
My hope is that as a community we could focus our light and spread our love by raising money for a great organization doing even greater work in Ethiopia.
Glimmer of Hope works to illuminate lives and eliminate poverty. I fell in love with their heart and their holistic approach after meeting some of the people behind the organization and hearing about their work. Their approach to bring change focuses on the following:
Livelihood-- Small loans create reliable income. Rural savings and loan cooperatives provide local financial support. Opportunity and confidence grow—allowing families and entire communities a sustainable path out of poverty.
Education- A quality education unleashes potential. Educated girls delay marriage and pregnancy. Children grow up empowered and inspire the next generation.
Health and Water- Modern health care and clean water save lives. Healthy women give birth to healthy babies and safe drinking water sustains health and wellbeing. Communities thrive when freed from the burden of preventable diseases.
They believe that "women and girls are the agents of change for an entire country." Don't you love that?! Using their holistic approach, they've empowered women and girls to overcome the challenges that keep them from having thriving families and communities.
Every dollar that gets donated goes directly to lifesaving projects in rural Ethiopia. Glimmer’s endowment covers all operating costs, so our giving goes farther. So here is my ask: That you would donate whatever you feel led to help this organization $5, $10, $50, or even $100. Whatever you're capable of giving helps!
It honestly would mean THE world to me to see how much of a difference we can make when we focus our light and spread all this love.
